Dad
You are the pillar of the home. A powerful representation of the
family's lineage. Though many are called dad, your active involvement has placed you on a pedestal of glory far
above those that have the role thrust upon them by mere procreation alone; for you have earned your seat of honor
through years of parental wisdom.
Many have gone far and wide in their quest to find themselves, yet
my journey goes no further than in your presence; for you are the flawless mirror that I should gaze upon revealing
the perfect image to which I should conform myself. It is with great joy that I call you dad.
Whenever someone says, "You are just like your dad," I hear,
"You're a person of excellence," and I smile inside' f or you are the sum total of the lofty position you
hold Time would fail me before I could express all the wonderful ways in which you have enriched my life...You
complete me.
Throughout the years, your ever watchful eyes laid bare my every
intent; serving as securer and soother, protecting me from others as well as myself. Your strong hands were
faithful guides; beckoning me to halt at the detection of harm and extended as trustful companions whenever I grew
fearful of what lay ahead during times of learning.
Surely your powerful arms have fenced in love, for each time you
embrace me, I feel immersed in joy. As I march towards maturity, I see no indication of your role needing to be
diminished; and for that, I am thankful. you have served your post well and I refuse not to honor your
fatherly exploits. Though the sands of time wait for no one, know that they could never cover up the impression you
have made on my life. I love you always, Dad
